The awards are finished and true to the style of my abstractions. The horizontal lines, the negative space, even text has been worked into the finished pieces. I plan on running in the event, but I know full well I will not win one of my own awards. The GREAT thing is all the money raised goes into the Art Department’s Scholarship / Activities fund at Waterford Union High School! Good Luck to ALL the runners! The development and revisiting of abstractions is on its way. While I love the portrait (Chick Close, Alex Katz, Alice Neel) the “simplicity” of design elements and principles are what attract me. Linear exploration of texture, color, contrast, text… I am very interested in the use of these as the subject matter, the impetus behind my works. Please visit the “Abstractions” page (above) to visit these works. Below is an example (and pricing) of one work. I AM interested in your thought, feedback, FOLLOWING, and references to others who might ALSO be interested. Please share your thoughts with me – enjoy!
“Examples of What’s Acceptable and What’s Not,” 8″ x 24″, $580
