My new session with the Waterford 7 began today. This is going to be a summer of painting for these folks. An incredible group and skilled artists. today we began by prepping our canvases with bright orange, and then we went into some abstract painting and learned how to mix our colors. Next week we are going to be getting into the idea of landscapes.
Best to the ladies I drew with at Friends on the Square in Elkhorn, WI tonight. Waiting for Birk to get haircut, I took some time.e to chat up life and plans with the barista and her friend. This is my drawing from that time.
With the year ending, and my 19 years (I’m still giving them my 100% – and SUMMER SCHOOL with Plein Air Art), I have created a final work for the AP Kids. Titled Eleven Concentrations and One Breadth it is a work using the works of the 12 AP kids. I have truly enjoyed the time with each of them and I wish all of the art students (and all the rest of my students) well as they continue to move forward in their career. Keep in touch.
The Windy City… As a family we had a great time in Chicago. Saw Hamilton, ate at the Italian Village, Starbucks of course. The highlight was the conversation and time together. Here is my sketch of the stage from the show. Brooke is the proud owner of the work now. Lovely little 7 year old (perhaps) that sat next to me in the Balcony for the show.
Based on my last count, I had 45 artworks (plus a few that didn’t get resolved) made over the past 4 days during my high school lunch period by many of my art students and students who were NOT art students of mine. All of these artworks will get wrapped around a can of soup and then donated to the local Waterford, WI food pantry for those in need. The images below are my contributions.

“Dear Campbell’s Soup and the Andy Warhol Foundation,
My art club and myself have created a small edition of artworks that we’re wrapping around cans of condensed soup. After having studied the work of Warhol, we chose to use the inspiration of the soup can and 1) create individual works and 2) donate all the art and soup to a local food pantry as the holiday season draws close. If you are looking to help out those who are in need, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Frank”
Here are some of our cans and the outstanding group that created them. Thanks!
