Soup and Art, Art and Soup… Donations to the food pantry

Based on my last count, I had 45 artworks (plus a few that didn’t get resolved) made over the past 4 days during my high school lunch period by many of my art students and students who were NOT art students of mine. All of these artworks will get wrapped around a can of soup and then donated to the local Waterford, WI food pantry for those in need. The images below are my contributions.

New Works on Canvas… more movement, momentum, mixture

With a new approach to a similar theme, I am developing works based on quicker movement and harsher changes in direction. Life sends me in new directions in aspects I have invested so much heart and design soul into… the work needs to express some of the humanness life offers and the harsher and contrasting directional change. These 5 works are in porgress, layers of additional planes of color are in mind… but this is process and I love sharing and thinking about the process.

#WIStateFair was a GREAT SUCCESS for #PleinAir #Paintings

Thank you to ALL who came out to visit the State Fair and see the Plein Air paintings I created this year. 5 works – 3 for the fair and 2 commissions. In addition to the commission, I got a phone call today from Larry – Plein Air Volunteer / Coordinator, that the Giant Slide Painting “If We Get Separated, Meet at the Giant Slide” was sold today! GREAT week fore sales! Thank you Sara Toedter for taking the pictures of me painting. Thanks also to Matt and Ken for the commissions of your businesses at the fair. Continued success to you! More edits tonight for tomorrow! Thank you all!

#WI #StateFair #PleinAir #Painting Day

Tonight, I am pooped. What a great day of painting and dodging rain, no, thunderstorms. Thank you everyone who knew me and came out to the fair and also to those who did not know but took the time to talk with me about the opportunity we had. It was a great day. 3 paintings, 4 cloudbursts, 2 frames, a crew of outstanding volunteers at the fair, 2 potential commissions ( thanks) and what will hopefully be a few sales from the day. My gallery, above, may not be perfect, here are my images from the day. PLEASE, share your thoughts and memories, contact me if you’re interested in the skyglider painting, that one is with me. The other two… Visit the fair and see them in the Expo Building.

#LakeGeneva and #MarinaBay #Watercolor #Painting

What a great day of Art in the Park in Lake Geneva, WI. I TOTALLY forgot that it was even happening today – but the crowd didn’t forget. What a busy, busy few hours. Great to talk to all of the art goers and especially the hard workers at Marina Bay. The kids were excited to be a part of a painting – so much so – the work was bought at the end of the day. Thanks again guys and gals. Fun to meet and talk with you all. TOMORROW – the WI STATE FAIR!

#Dinner in #Lake Geneva with my #Family

image

While my family is the more important part of tonight’s dinner, were settling in and gathering our thoughts while we wait for the pizza. I am taking a moment to celebrate ther newest investment in my art company… Business Cards! These are from the online company Moo.com and are mini cards. Neat. Next time you run into me, ask for one. Here’s my family too. Time for tic tac toe.

#ThreeStoriesUp… a view of #LakeGeneva I didn’t actually see

What a beautiful day in Lake Geneva! The sun was out, the winds were low and the shoppers were really polite and interested. I look forward to another day tomorrow as I get out and continue to work on my approach to the Plein Air paintings. My approach is coming along… I just have to keep at it. Thanks to Julie for her continues support in my passion of painting.

#Storefronts. #Hopper inspired.

A truly wonderful evening in Lake Geneva today. I spent a good deal of time enjoying the smells of the restaurant Sopra and viewing the stores across the street. One of my last paintings was a view of Sopra from the very spot I painted tonight. A wonderful number of people stopped by and inquired about my work and at the end of the evening a beautiful family, the Kendall’s (Danielle, Jason, Kela and Micah) who were visiting from California purchased tonight’s painting. They watched the work develop from blank page to the finished work. Thank you for your interest in my work. I truly appreciate it.

Two paintings were finished tonight, well, almost. This painting was finshed and the ideas were to go back to a simpler approach with the paints and brush strokes. I’ll post a cleaner picture and the other painting in a day or so. Enjoy.

#BTown #music (and #Art) in the #Park

A great afternoon of barbecue and conversation turned into a night of great music and painting. Thanks to all the folks and kids who stopped by to see me at work. Follow my site (there is a spot on this page to do that) like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter.
