Sunday, August 5, 2012 was my latest run at Don Krause’s Open Canvas Night, “One Week Paintings” at the Art*Bar (located at 722 East Burleigh Street, Milwaukee, WI). I have had an opportunity to paint there every year since it open. I believe this was my 7th run at it. Artists will come in and be faced with a canvas from the previous week and have the opportunity to, for 8 or so hours, create their own work right over the top of the previous week’s work. In the past I have incorporated the week prior’s into mine, but this time around, I collaged over the entire work and set mine apart from the previous one. The work I left fits in with the current body of work I am producing and fits in nicely near the front entrance to this ever-so-popular Riverwest establishment.
