“Mug, Hat, and Spaldeen” and “Sheep ona Hill” are now completed. Being an abstract painter for the most part is great but when the opportunity avails itself (even as a demo for the artists I work with) the looking and painting from reality is a wonderful way to test my skills. Enjoy!
“Sheep on a Hill,” Frank Korb, 14″ x 14″, Oil on Canvas, 2020, $255.
“Mug, Hat, and Spaldeen,” Frank Korb, 14.875″ x 11″, Acrylic on Canvas, 2020, $220.
Two works in progress… Still Life and Landscape. While I’m working hard to make my abstractions and create relationships and meanings, painting from observation is still full of skills that are important to keep working on.

“Friends! Hello!
Here is an original piece of art for sale by Wisconsin artist Frank Korb.
I really enjoy art that questions my assumptions, challenges me to look at my beliefs and asks why I chose them. For me, art allows me to wander, story tell, and pick up on cues that serve as seeds for discussion. There is no shortage of cues from this irregular piece by Frank Korb. I see a cow, a fish in a yoga pose, and an affirmation of all of the irregular decisions I’ve made in my life. Nice.
You can see process pictures of the creation of this piece here, and more of Frank’s work at frankkorb.com.

Today I finished a series of 6 paintings all based on what we all need more of in this world – compliments (I know the spelling is different). These also speak about the contrasts we are all facing today. In these cases, the contrasts work well together (unlike the contrasts in the larger country and world).

“Do Not Break Your Oaths But Keep the Oaths You Have Made,” Frank Korb, acrylic, collage, sand, oil stick, and charcoal on paper, 50″ x 63.5″, 2020, $2,860.
Brand new work DETAIL: “Do Not Break Your Oaths But Keep the Oaths You Have Made,” Frank Korb, acrylic, collage, sand, oil stick, and charcoal on paper, 50″ x 63.5″, 2020. The scale of the work allowed the oil sticks to bring in a painterly approach as I had limited colors to work with. Neon pink and green were exciting to work with as the freshness and brightness of the oil pastels worked through the background painting.
