Galley Night 2012 presented by Jeff Kursel at the Pritzloff Building in Milwaukee was a GREAT event on Saturday night. Thanks to all of those who came. I loved the conversations we all had. Congratulations and THANKS to Shelly Janowski, Tina Gallup, and Tricia Kursel for the generous bid on the THREE artworks. While I broke the rules, I was happy to see three young women leave with three strong artworks and smiles on their faces. Thanks Jeff, I look forward to next years event… I may break those rules again.

A lovely foursome sat down next to me as I was creating some preliminary pages in my sketchbook. These two little ones, maybe 3 or 4 were fun to listen to as they drank their first treats of Starbucks hot cocoa. I wrapped up a double page spread of the sketch and thought these two needed to begin their art collection today. Enjoy Angel and JJ.

These are some of the most recent works completed. Two of the works aren’t in my hands and while I cannot think of the titles NOR the scale of the works, I figure a grab bag price of $1,000,000 isn’t asking too much. Secondly,the town of Waterford, WI is having it’s first River’s Edge Art Walk on October 19th. The goal is to bring the small town back to the arts (a reason a portion of the small town was established was because of the artists who settled in the area known as the Waterford Woods). I will be located in the Waterford Public Library while some of my student’s work (from the local High School) will be in a wonderful family restaurant straight across the street from me – Marty’s).

Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona has just added me to their list of artists. Sunday, August 5, 2012 was my latest run at Don Krause’s Open Canvas Night, “One Week Paintings” at the Art*Bar (located at 722 East Burleigh Street, Milwaukee, WI). I have had an opportunity to paint there every year since it open. I believe this was my 7th run at it. Artists will come in and be faced with a canvas from the previous week and have the opportunity to, for 8 or so hours, create their own work right over the top of the previous week’s work. In the past I have incorporated the week prior’s into mine, but this time around, I collaged over the entire work and set mine apart from the previous one. The work I left fits in with the current body of work I am producing and fits in nicely near the front entrance to this ever-so-popular Riverwest establishment.
